Alabama Sawyer is run by its founders, Cliff Spencer and Leigh Spencer. The company designs modern, environmentally sustainable products from fallen trees in the Birmingham, Alabama area. Since our inception, we have diverted hundreds of logs from landfills, transforming them into award-winning furniture and products for homes and businesses.
Alabama Sawyer processes urban timber—beautiful old trees that have fallen in storms, been displaced by development, or were otherwise headed for a landfill or fireplace. Our skilled artisans turn these once-forgotten trees into elegant furniture, architectural elements, and objects, carefully crafted to delight and endure.
Our pieces come from urban wood, not farmed timber, so each piece has a distinct character in color and grain. The organic beauty and fine craftsmanship of our furniture add a sustainable and eco-friendly quality. We produce a full line of organic modern dining tables, coffee tables, console tables, and side tables. Our rustic beam benches are among the most popular in the country, as are the Noaway countertop compost bins. We use every part of the tree to cut conference tables.
