As an independent brand under H&M, Arket offers product lines including women's wear, men's wear, children's wear, and home collections, positioning itself as a mid-to-high-end brand focused on high quality and practicality. Price-wise, it is similar to COS; for example, a pair of socks is priced at around 5 euros, while suits and coats cost approximately 170 euros and 300 euros respectively... Arket's mission is to democratize quality through widely accessible, carefully crafted, and durable products designed to be used and loved for a long time.
To ensure that each garment goes beyond just "fast fashion" and focuses on high-quality timeless staples, Arket's design team also studies vintage clothing craftsmanship and invites in-house knitting artisans to customize weaving methods. For instance, they specifically developed a core technology called Cotton GSM? for knitwear, applied in Arket's garment weaving. It features four weights of yarn, with higher gsm resulting in denser fabric.
In addition, Arket has designed a unique yarn made from organic merino wool, which runs through the entire collection and serves as the foundation for each style. Based on mathematical formulas, they have developed a series of optimal thread and needle combinations, enabling the creation of various textures in knitwear.
Arket's first store opened on August 25, 2017, on Regent Street in London and online, followed by stores in Copenhagen, Brussels, and Munich. The headquarters and design studio are located at 83-year-old Maria Skolgata in Stockholm.
