Batsheva is a New York-based women's ready-to-wear brand. Founded in 2016 by Batsheva Hay, Batsheva plays with American-style women's clothing—from Victorian to avant-garde; from housewife to hippie—using elements that symbolize restraint and repression (high necklines, voluminous sleeves and skirts) and giving them a modern feel. By reimagining historical silhouettes, Batsheva explores how to extract the powerful and beautiful aspects of these styles while rejecting outdated notions of femininity.
