Catherine has always had a passion for jewelry and a natural love for working with her hands. She studied jewelry making and classical metalworking, later working under several American designers. However, it wasn't until Catherine and her husband and co-creator, Scott Diamond, returned from a five-year global adventure that she felt ready to launch her signature collection of handcrafted jewelry. Catherine draws inspiration from the places they visited, the people they met during their extensive travels, and immersive apprenticeships with traditional artisans in small villages and remote areas. After returning to the United States in 2000, she launched Catherine Weitzman Jewelry in San Francisco. The company grew organically, and in 2004, Catherine and Scott moved to Hawaii and established a studio where all jewelry is still handmade today.
