After 19 years in the LA denim industry, CQY founder and die-hard Lakers fan Samuel Ku has invested heavily in seeing his hometown maintain its dominance as the world's most important denim city. So when he saw the troubling trend of brands leaving LA factories to produce cheaper goods overseas—while charging customers more each year—his mission became clear: start a denim line focused on his community and truly showcase what the best factories in the world can do, with a focus on sustainability.
