GoPro was founded by Nick Woodman in 2002. An avid surfer, skier, and motorsports enthusiast, he originally started the company to find a better way to capture himself and his friends surfing. It began with just a 35mm camera and a wrist strap made from an old wetsuit and scrap plastic, and has since grown into a multinational company that has sold over 26 million GoPro cameras in more than 100 countries and regions.
