Hobbs is a British premium women's fashion brand known for its vintage-inspired style, which consistently evokes a sense of retro elegance and sophistication. In 1981, Hobbs opened its first boutique in Hampstead—small in size but highly popular. The brand was born from Yoram and Marilyn Anselm's idea of selling elegant vintage clothing with a distinctive equestrian twist. The boutique was named after Marilyn's favorite brand of horse-riding equipment. After studying sculpture at the Central School of Art and Design, Marilyn began designing her own clothes. Although Hobbs initially started as a shoe manufacturer, its clothing line has been in operation since 1986 and has maintained strong, sustained growth alongside its footwear. By 2002, the brand had expanded to 34 stores across the UK.
