"Hai" originates from the Mandarin word for sea: the movement, power, and ever-changing nature of the sea are what Hai cherishes. Hai began with silk. Designs that extend the possibilities of fabric—from silk that moves over the body like liquid, to sturdy double-faced silk with solid-colored ruffles. Still the foundation of Hai, velvet, lace, and pearls have joined silk since our founding in 2018. A timeless palette, both ethereal and durable.
Starting with our earliest Bamboo and Little Bags, we have evolved from handbags into a complete Hai wardrobe—our exploration of silk led us to create the perfect slip dress, followed by shoes and jewelry.
While we launch new pieces each season, Hai does not strictly follow the fashion calendar. Each season's designs are not part of a standalone collection, but follow the logic of our own wardrobe; clothes we know we will wear again and again.
