The Feltrinelli Group is a renowned Italian publishing and bookstore chain group, headquartered in Milan.
La Feltrinelli bookstore chain was founded in 1957 by Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, who had founded La Feltrinelli publishing house two years earlier, making it the preferred Italian publisher for major international authors and books.
For nearly 50 years after its founding, La Feltrinelli's bookstores and publishing house operated completely independently. However, in early 2005, the company's current chairman, Carlo Feltrinelli, carried out a major restructuring, integrating both entities under a single new holding company.
In 2013, in collaboration with Prada, the Prada Feltrinelli Literary Prize was launched, dedicated to discovering emerging literary talent.
