Laura Mercier was born in Provence, France, and entered a French painting school at the age of 17. When her ambition shifted from painting to the art of facial makeup, she decided to transfer to the renowned Carita School in Paris to major in professional makeup. After graduation, she worked as a professional makeup artist at the school and taught makeup courses. In 1985, Laura moved to New York and joined the team at American ELLE. There, she immediately began working on advertising makeup. During this time, her clients included L'Oréal Paris, Maybelline, Victoria's Secret, Gap, Banana Republic, and many other well-known cosmetics and apparel companies. In 1996, Laura founded her own makeup brand, dedicated to serving women of all ages and skin types. She personally participates in product development, creating classic, timeless colors that satisfy her customers.
