MDSolarSciences was founded by dermatologic oncologist Dr. Robert J. Friedman. Dr. Friedman was part of the NYU dermatologist team that developed the "ABCDs of Melanoma," which became a widely recognized tool for early detection of the disease. He wanted to do his part to reduce the likelihood of developing skin cancer. Developing a line of sun protection and skin recovery formulas that feel great to wear every day seemed like the next logical step in fighting skin cancer at its source.
