When I was working at a company in Melbourne, Australia, Merry People started as an idea in 2014, born out of frustration. Due to the city's notoriously unreliable weather, I kept ruining my work shoes; I needed a pair of durable and comfortable boots that could withstand my commute and still be suitable for walking into the corporate office.
I took a rather crazy leap of faith and set out to make my own boots. With sketches in hand, I sought technical help from a friend, and the first pair of Merry People boots was born.
