Feeling good in what you wear has always been at the core of MIAOU. That’s where it all began. Designer ALEXIA ELKAIM was on the hunt for a pair of “perfect fit” pants—not just for herself, but for her friends too. The search came up empty, so in 2016, ELKAIM took matters into her own hands and designed a one-off pair of jeans inspired by a favorite vintage find in Paris, effectively creating what we now know as MIAOU. Those skinny jeans quickly thrust MIAOU into the spotlight, catching the attention of influencers and friends alike, and launching ELKAIM on an extraordinary journey.
Before MIAOU came to be, ELKAIM’s life was always split between Paris, New York, and Los Angeles. These cities shaped her and sparked a deep love for vintage clothing. Scouring flea markets in whatever city she found herself in, hunting for vintage pieces, became a cherished ritual that shaped both ELKAIM and MIAOU into what they are today. After launching that first pair of jeans, MIAOU evolved into an innovative ready-to-wear brand, with ELKAIM expanding beyond the iconic pants into luxurious corsets, timeless dresses, and even sexy swimwear—all with the same core intention: making the wearer feel good.?
