Launched in 2012, Mission Discovery is a summer school program open to students aged 14-18 from every corner of the world. Guided by NASA astronauts, NASA personnel, rocket scientists, and world-renowned professors, students spend an entire week working in teams. The goal is to design an experiment that could benefit humanity, whether on Earth, a space station, the Moon, Mars, or elsewhere. With the help of outstanding NASA role models, students end the week by presenting their ideas to Mission Discovery judges. The best experiment is selected, built at NASA, and then launched to the International Space Station (ISS) to be carried out by astronauts. Since its launch, Mission Discovery has partnered with 13 NASA astronauts, held programs on 4 continents, reached over 7,000 students, sent 33 experiments into space using 8 different rockets, with more experiments in the pipeline. Registration prices start at $920.00 USD, depending on the selected country.
