NOVA of California is a lighting and decor company dedicated to creating original designs with a modern California style. Founded in 1923, NOVA of California is the oldest lighting company in North America. NOVA was established in 1923 by three brothers with the vision of bringing light and warmth to their fellow Brooklynites. The business thrived during the Depression, allowing NOVA to open showrooms in High Point, North Carolina, the New York Furniture Exchange, and the American Furniture Market in Chicago. Brothers Israel Langbaum and David Moscowitz spent most of their time on the road selling the product line, while Murray Moskowitz managed the factory in Brooklyn's Williamsburg district. These designs are practical, purposeful, and built to last. Their mission is to solve real-world problems while making homes warmer and more comfortable.
