SOPHIE MECHALY was born in Paris, France. He studied economics and business administration at the University of Paris, studied techniques at the Institut France de la Mode, and gained experience at Azzedine Ala?a. Afterwards, he joined his parents' Parisian shirt manufacturer "LE GARAGE" and became a full-time designer at the age of 26. In 1995, he founded "PAUL & JOE" from his menswear collection, naming it after his two sons. The following year, she launched the women's collection.
