In 1903, politician Auguste Gindre founded a workshop producing mesh bags for his wife. Mesh bags were tiny pouches worn on the fingers or wrists by elegant women in the early 20th century. However, it was their daughter Marcelle who established the brand in 1920, turning POURCHET into a full-fledged leather bag manufacturer. Twenty-seven years later, his son Robert Pourchet, moved by the family's passion, took over the business.
