Rivers was founded in 1979. A partnership was established with Diana Ferrari in Sevastopol, and products were wholesaled to brands such as Grace Bros, Myer, David Jones, and Betts. In 1983, we opened our first retail store on George Street in Sydney, selling men's footwear. This was followed by our store on Pitt Street.
In 1991, we introduced women's ballet flats to Australia. By 1993, Rivers had over 50 stores across Australia and launched its first menswear collection.
Rivers went digital in 1999, launching one of Australia's first retailer websites.
