At the heart of SMG is the exciting retail store Sam Moon Trading Co. (“SM Trading”). Founded by David and In Sun Moon in 1984, SM Trading began as a regional general merchandise wholesaler. Over the years, it rapidly transformed into Dallas's destination for women's accessories and handbag wholesale. When SM Trading opened to the public in 1994, the company thrived while maintaining wholesale prices, giving it a competitive advantage.
By extending the company's B2B wholesale pricing policy to retail customers, SM Trading began to rise, becoming the premier supermarket for women's accessories and handbags. A second SM Trading store opened in Frisco, Texas in 2003, driven by tremendous demand for the company's competitive price points.
