SANS MATIN originated from an idea that founders (and cousins) Charly and Lockie Cunningham had while backpacking through South America in 2015. After a minor complication involving Lockie's only pair of sneakers and a tumble dryer, a new pair of everyday sneakers was needed. The founders were looking for shoes that were both very stylish and very comfortable; high quality, reasonably priced, and suitable for various environments—from an office in London to a local bar in Medellín, Colombia. It didn't take long for them to realize that what they were looking for didn't exist, and so SANS MATIN was born.
