In addition to connecting with like-minded whisky lovers, they are internationally recognized for their mission: to provide members with an adventurous and enjoyable journey exploring the world's widest range of single-cask whiskies. In the early 1980s, a group of friends gathered to purchase a cask of fine malt whisky. Inspired by the unique character of this single malt from a Speyside distillery, these pioneering friends founded the Scotch Malt Whisky Society in 1983, buying more single-cask whiskies and sharing their discoveries with fellow adventurers.
