Corset manufacturer Johann Gottfried Spiesshofer and businessman Michael Braun founded a corset factory in 1886 with 6 employees and 6 sewing machines. Each product was handmade in a barn in Heubach, Kingdom of Württemberg, Germany. After rapid growth, the founders sought a new name to convey a sense of scale and impact. Inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, they named the brand "Triumph" in 1902—championing craftsmanship and quality.
