"AutoZone" is the largest auto parts and repair chain brand in the United States. Its predecessor, Auto Shack, was established in 1970, opened its first store in 1979 under the name "Auto Shack," and was renamed "AutoZone" in 1987. On July 4, 1979, AutoZone was listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: AZO), with its chain stores primarily concentrated in economically developed cities on the East Coast and West Coast of the United States.
