Maxwell and Lesley's coffee journey began in Australia in 2008. In Melbourne, they discovered an underground movement known as the "third wave of coffee." Drawn to an approach driven by coffee's flavor and origin, they dove in headfirst, learning everything possible about this mysterious beverage. Driven by the opportunity to learn and innovate at a time when people were beginning to think differently about what coffee could be, Maxwell and Lesley opened Colonna & Small's, a destination coffee shop in Bath, UK, in 2009. The shop was dedicated to showcasing the most unique coffees in a space designed for conversation around coffee. Colonna & Small's quickly gained international recognition and was awarded "Best Coffee Shop in Europe" in 2016.
