Getaway founder Jon Staff grew up in rural Minnesota, spending most of his childhood outdoors. After a demanding entrepreneurial career, Jon found himself burned out and longing for the role nature had played in his youth. He quit his job, left the city in a 26-foot Airstream trailer, and took time to reflect. While traveling, Jon discovered that being close to nature was essential to his well-being, productivity, and happiness. So much so that in the summer of 2015, Jon and his college friend Pete Davis launched Getaway. With 15 outposts and growing, Getaway offers simple getaways within two hours of major cities across the country, allowing you to escape the hustle and return to nature. Guests are invited to enjoy free time, find balance through disconnection, and savor time with the people who matter most.
