Shades of Light began in 1986 as a small single retail store in historic Richmond, Virginia, selling unique, high-end lighting designs.Since then, the company has grown into a national multi-channel retailer of lighting and other home decor products, including rugs, furniture, mirrors, fans, and wall decor.True to its heritage, however, the company has always focused on its carefully curated collection of high-style products and distinctive lighting designs, many of which are produced in-house by the company's own trained artisans.After several years of growth and outgrowing two previous locations, the company's corporate office, distribution center, and production operations are now housed in its 115,000-square-foot headquarters facility in Midlothian.
