How do you convert shoe sizes? What size should I buy? How do I measure foot length and width? If I wear a Nike size 42, what size should I wear in Asics? Here are the answers one by one:
1. The biggest difference between Chinese and US shoe sizes is width
In fact, the biggest difference between Chinese and American shoe buyers, besides the inconsistent numbering (we use 41, 42, they use US8, etc.), is that China generally has few width options, while the US has width classifications. US shoe widths are generally divided into the following:
1. X-Narrow: Women's S or AA
2. Narrow: Women's N or A, Men's N or C
3. Medium: Women's M or B, Men's M or D
4. Wide: Women's W or D, Men's W or EE (2E)
5. X-Wide: Women's XW or EE (2E), Men's XW or EEEE (4E)
Compared to Westerners, Asian and Chinese feet are generally wider and may have a higher instep. Therefore, the default shoe size in the US is usually Medium (Men's M or D), but when buying shoes, it is more suitable for Chinese people to choose W or 2E sizes.
If you have wide feet and the shoe you want to buy overseas doesn't have a wide version, when choosing M or D, it is strongly recommended that you go half a size larger than your usual size. For example, if you usually wear a wide version W or 2E in US size 8, then when buying M or D width, it is recommended to buy US size 8.5.

This is a general shoe size comparison chart provided by the US, and it is basically very accurate. Please note that what we commonly refer to as 41, 42 corresponds to Europe (European shoe size) in the chart. You can simply compare Europe with US.
